Hii! My name is Mateo Gamero.
I'm a professional photographer and photo retoucher from Perú. I fell in love with photography in 2020, particularly film photography.

Looking back, I’ve realized that my joy for photography was always there—I just hadn’t fully embraced it. Film photography transformed how I see and experience life. Waiting for the “perfect moment” has taught me patience, but it also reminds me how easy it is to lose myself in the pursuit of perfection. It’s tricky. Still, every time I develop and see my film, it’s a gift. I’m filled with emotions and transported back to that exact moment.

In 2023, I discovered my passion for behind-the-scenes (BTS) photography. My friend Paolo, who directed a short film called Spin The Bottle, offered me the chance to document the process. I didn’t even know BTS photography was a job, but I instantly fell in love with it. Over the next nine months, I worked on 11 films in Los Angeles and Perú, capturing the magic of filmmaking from behind the camera.

Now, I’m traveling the world, immersing myself in new cultures, and capturing unforgettable moments along the way..
